It is recommended that you safely raise the truck. 2. Wrap the Transmission Temperature Sensor threads with Teflon tape and thread into the Transmission Test Port Adapter. Using 14 and 17mm wrenches, tighten the sensor to the adapter. 3. Locate the Transmission Test Port, which is on the driver’s side of the transmission case above the second transmission pan bolt from the front. 4. Remove the Test Port Plug with a 14mm socket. Be sure to have a drain pan ready to catch any lost fluid. 5. Thread the connected sensor and adapter assembly and crush washer into the Transmission Test Port, and tighten with a 17mm wrench. 6. Attach the female silver connector and the longer rubber cover to one end of a sensor wire from the Gauge Wiring Kit and connect it to the white wire from the sensor. 7. Attach the male silver connector and short rubber cover to the end of a wire from the Gauge Wiring Kit and connect to the black wire from the sensor. 8. Route the sensor signal wires toward the opening in the Firewall and secure them with Zip Ties. 9. Crimp an eyelet connector to the ground wire from the sensor and attach it to a reliable grounding source in the Engine Bay. 10.
