1 GlowShift.com © GlowShift Gauges, LLC | All Rights Reserved 2008-2010 INSTALLATION GUIDE FORD SUPER DUTY POWER STROKE Boost Gauge Installation SECTION 1 PREPARING THE INSTALLATION • Check that you have all parts required for installation, and that the engine is cool. • Open the hood and locate the truck’s batteries. Using a wrench, disconnect the negative terminal of each battery to ensure there is no power running through the truck during the installation. Note: When it comes time to wire and connect the gauges to their power source, you will be able to reconnect the negative terminals on the batteries. Note: If you are installing a MaxTow Boost Gauge, you will be installing an electronic Boost Pressure Sensor and Harness instead of the Boost Line and Ferrule Fittings. 1. To prevent any metal shavings from falling into the engine, remove the 2 intercooler coupler clamps and the coupler at the throttle body using an 11mm socket. 2. Using an 8mm socket, remove the 3 bolts that are securing the throttle body. 3. Using a pick tool, release the clip for the electrical connection on the throttle body and set aside. 4. Using a shop vac place the hose in the intake manifold where you will be drilling. 5. Mark the drilling location with a center punch. Using a 1/8” drill bit, drill a pilot hole and gradually step up in drill bit sizes until size R is reached. Tap the hole using a 1/8-27 NPT Tap. 6. Wrap Te on tape around the 1/8-27 NPT male threads of the boost line fitting. 2. 5.
